Still Life with Dirty Dishes is a parody of the still life paintings of the Old Masters. The background is painted with a subtle landscape and a drape is placed in the upper left corner. The less than pristine plates, cups and bowls are jammed into the wooden frame with fruit scattered about.

Still Life with Lobster is constructed from a 4" deep wooden box attached to a picture frame. The objects inside are made from various materials including fabric, polymer clay, glass, oyster shells, found objects, altered artificial fruit and seafood.
This piece is a parody of a painting by Dutch artist Abraham van Beyeren. It is a three dimensional recreation of the Old Masters painting. I've played with the image, plugging in my own components all the while treading a thin line trying not to transform the sublime into the ridiculous. 2015

This piece is a parody of a painting of the same name by Erastus Salisbury Field an American artist who painted in the mid 1800's.
